A typical group has 20 to 40 members who meet weekly, biweekly or monthly. A typical meeting lasts 60–90 minutes.

Members learn communication skills by working in the Competent Communication manual, a series of 10 self-paced, skill-based speaking assignments designed to instill a basic foundation in public speaking. We don’t tell you what to talk about; we help you construct and present your message more effectively.

Members also learn leadership skills by working in the Competent Leadership manual. A series of 10 projects that can be completed by performing the various meeting roles, and by performing special assignments like assisting with the club’s newsletter or website.

Both manuals come to you as part of a $20 new member fee that you pay when you join. When you start working on your speeches and participating in meeting roles, you are well on your way to improving your communication and leadership skills!
